A Bath weekend around 2 restaurants

Wine and small plates at Beckford Bottle Shop, seasonal cooking at Beckford Canteen, and a suggested place to stay.

This is a suggested 2-night plan built from the venues’ own information. The two restaurants belong to the same Beckford group, so it’s a focused itinerary rather than a survey of Bath’s food scene.

Friday: Beckford Bottle Shop

Start with wine and sharing plates at Beckford Bottle Shop, a wine merchant with an adjoining bistro at 5–8 Saville Row. The restaurant describes its food as seasonal, using produce from Somerset. Read the Bottle Shop’s own description.

Its published schedule currently runs Tuesday to Saturday, with Sunday and Monday closed. That’s why this plan puts it first. Check the address and current opening days, then use the reservation link on the official site.

Saturday: Beckford Canteen

Leave the day free, then make the second dinner Beckford Canteen at 11–12 Bartlett Street. Its menu centres on seasonal produce from the area around Bath. The official food page lists lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, plus Sunday lunch. See the current menus and service information.

Our suggestion is to check both restaurants’ menus before reserving, so the two meals give you the variety you want. If Saturday dinner doesn’t suit, Sunday lunch at the Canteen could be an alternative.

A possible base: No.15 by GuestHouse

No.15 is a city-centre hotel on Great Pulteney Street. It’s included here as one possible base, without a claim that it’s the best value for your dates. Check rooms, facilities and prices on the hotel’s website.

Before you travel

Confirm tables first, then choose accommodation and transport to suit your dates. Check dietary requirements directly with each restaurant. This plan doesn’t promise room or table availability, fares or journey times.
